The philatelic collection of the Museum consists of unique and rare exhibits that highlight and promote the philatelic history of our country. The Museum’s rich collection includes all the material used in the creation and issuance of stamps. The artist’s draft drawings, the essays/proofs, stamp samples of various shades, the sheets with the printing color scales, the printed stamp sheets, the first day envelopes and their hand stamps, the printing films of the newer publications
The first Greek stamp, the Hermes, published in 1861, along with its printing plates, as well as the commemorative series of the 1896 Olympic Games and the 1906 Mid-Olympics are rare exhibits in global philately.
The Museum has a large percentage of the old printing plates of stamp sheets, as well as rare lithographic plates.
In addition to the Greek stamps, there are also stamps of foreign countries-members of the World Postal Union (UPU), donations by collectors, special publications of foreign post offices, commemorative medals, rare postcards and letters.
